Heads up high blood pressure election watchers -- new research of more than 12-thousand people shows both intense activity and intense emotions seemed to double the odds of suffering a heart attack in the next hour.

So in other words, if you know you’ll get worked up watching the political news coverage and so you go work out instead, you are at just a great of risk of heart attack either way.

But the risk rose about threefold when people were upset and exerted themselves at the same time!

The study is not the first to suggest both bouts of anger or physical exertion can trigger a heart attack, but U.S. News & World Report's it's larger than past studies, and more diverse.  The study shows the numbers hold up for first-time heart attack patients in 52 countries.
