Arrest Made in July 4th Hit-and-Run

Yakima police arrested a 29-year-old man believed to be the driver in a hit-and-run accident on the Fourth of July that injured a pedestrian.

Police booked the Yakima man into jail Wednesday on vehicular assault and hit-and-run charges.

Witnesses said his car was speeding last Thursday night when it hit a 20-year-old Eric Riel of Yakima, leaving Riel with a broken leg and head injuries.
