Dive, dive...50 meters, steady as she goes, rig for silent running….aaaaand that’s my entire understanding of submarines!  My son spent 5 years on a nuke sub in the U.S. Navy but I must admit none of it splashed off on me.  In fact, my fear of water and tight places makes me the last candidate for underwater service. But thankfully there are many others who answered the call of their country and the deep and some of them, like Santa, are coming to town.

The United States Submarine Veterans of central and eastern Washington will hold their monthly meeting at the American Legion on 34th Avenue near Fruitvale on Saturday, January 10, in Yakima.

Submarine Veterans in central and eastern Washington and their family members are invited to attend.
