Apple Cup Brings in Business to Local Bars

Sports bars in Yakima saw a big boost in business Friday thanks to the big game between Washington and Washington State.

Jackson's Sports Bar said they had three to four times as many people compared to a normal Friday afternoon crowd. Fans say the Apple Cup is a game they are always excited to watch.

"I look forward to it every year," Huskies fan Stephanie Van Dyke told KNDO News. "I was actually telling my sister this morning that it's something I look forward to every year because its just fun to go back and forth with the Cougs. I love it."

"The Apple Cup is always a little crazy," Cougars fan Scott Zediker said. "Each team is really competitive and can win the game."

Jackson's also expected large crowds for the Civil War game between Oregon and Oregon State.
