Appeal Of Mission Expansion Denied

The Yakima Union Gospel Mission expansion is a step closer to reality today. The mission wants to expand it's parking lot medical treatment center and residential area. On Monday the Yakima City Hearing Examiner announced an appeal by the Yakima Gateway Organization has been denied. The organization is made up of business owners who are opposed to the expansion. The organization has 2 weeks to file an appeal of the decision to the Yakima City Council. The appeal to the city council will determine if the mission should go through a public hearing or if the city approval is ok to allow the expansion to move forward.
