The President will speak to the nation regarding Syria during a press conference on Tuesday. White House staffers say the President will tell the American public why he believes the United States should take military action in Syria.

In Yakima, a local group is planning to protest any involvement in Syria before the President speaks.

The leader of the demonstration tells KNDO it's important to make sure the public's voice is heard.

"We the people have to make it known how we feel about this issue," Daniel Ullom said. "The politicians aren't going to come and ask us our opinion. We have to make it known."

The protest is scheduled for noon Saturday at Millennium Plaza in downtown Yakima.
