Not all posts need be breaking news or political commentary.  Some might be just what you need to know after that great Italian lunch and just before that important meeting!  So let’ ask – have you ever wonder why is it so hard to get rid of garlic breath.

Garlic breath is a by-product of chewing garlic which releases four sulfur compounds. The biggest offender is allyl methyl sulfide, which metabolizes more slowly than the others, keeping it at a higher concentration in the body for a longer period of time.

After consuming garlic, the potent compounds are absorbed into the bloodstream, then become vaporized while going through the lungs resulting in garlic breath.

Popular Science says there are just a few remedies that can help offset the scent  and they include eating an apple, parsley or raw mint or you can drink plenty of milk, or green tea.
