Police are searching Snohomish and King counties for a young mother and her newborn daughter who was reportedly born with breathing difficulties.

Mill Creek police Officer Ian Durkee says a midwife who assisted with the birth early Friday at an apartment called for a medic unit, saying the child's complexion was gray and she had trouble breathing. However, Durkee says the 20-year-old mother canceled the aid call, saying she would take the infant to a hospital.

Police say they've been unable to find any record of the child being treated at a hospital or clinic. They issued an Amber Alert for the baby, Annabelle Martini, who is believed to be with her mother.

Durkee says police just want to find the child and make sure she's OK.

The mother reportedly has relatives in Snohomish and King counties.

Mill Creek is northeast of Seattle.
