Adopt a Pet and Help the Human Society Win $100,000!

Here is a great idea: By adopting a pet you can help an animal and the Central Washington Humane Society win $100,000. Votes from the Yakima Valley help put the Humane Society in the top 50 to win the money. The final 50 will now be judged based on raising their adoption percentages. Starting next week and running through October 1 there will be a series of event to kick off the contest. Executive Director of the Humane Society Alan Lanvoy says the first event is next weekend at the shelter will include microchipping and vaccination clinics. The following event will be at Petsmart August 11 and 12. Last year about 850 pets were adopted, and the goal this year is to double that.
