A new study done at Stanford University may have come up with an easy way to get more people to vote that involves just a simple change of words. Researchers found in two studies that a personal by in makes a difference. Getting people to see themselves as being a voter rather that just someone doing the the act of "voting" sent more people to the polls. Social psychologist Christopher Bryan thinks that "the message from these findings is that people care a lot about seeing themselves as good and worthy. People know voting is a good thing to do, but may not bother to vote because they dismiss it as 'just another behavior,' but calling it 'being a voter' signals that voting isn't just a behavior, it's a reflection of the kind of person you are."
