It’s said of Helen of Troy that she had a face that launched a thousand ships. Translation, she was such a beauty (best in the world regardless of what Steve Harvey might say) and so beloved by her husband King Menelaus, that when she was abducted by Paris Prince of Troy, Menelaus launched a thousand ship armada go get her back. They had Brad Pitt and a wooden horse on their side so you know how the Trojan War turns out.

But in truth, a pretty face can help a lot in life and a new study shows it may also help you get better grades in school.

Researchers from Metropolitan State University, Denver rated more than 5,000 students on a scale of one to ten for attractiveness. They then divided the photos of females into three groups: average, more attractive, and less attractive and analyzed their grades.

Guess what Achilles, researchers discovered that the least attractive group were graded about 1.5 percent lower than those with average looks, while the most attractive group had grades about another 0.5 percent higher than the average group.

Questions raised – do professors invest more time and energy into the better-looking students or do professors simply reward the more attractive students with higher grades compared to less attractive students even when they given an identical performance?

Researchers reached the conclusion that it’s both with professors making small adjustments on both of these margins. (Daily Mail)
