Yakima has seen a lot of snow so far this winter and more is expected. According to the National Weather service about 3 inches of the white stuff fell in November of 2015. But that changed in December. They say that month saw almost 16 inches of snow in the Yakima valley. On average Yakima usually sees about 9 to 10 inches and last year Yakima only saw about an inch of snow the entire month of December.
"The normal snowfall for the month of December is like 9.7 inches, almost 10 inches, so we are above average, or above normal for this time of year in the Yakima Valley," Assistant Forecaster, Ann Adams explained.
So far in January we've seen almost 7 inches of snow, but more is expected to fall in the future.
