On December 13, Yakima and Central Washington are in for a treat, a Celtic Christmas treat!

Performing on stage at the Capitol Theater will be Affiniti.  The Capitol Theater’s website describes Affiniti as, “the powerhouse Irish female trio   made up of Ireland’s finest young vocalist, Emer Barry, classical harpist, Aisling Ennis and Mary McCague on violin.

All three are classically trained and Masters of their instruments, but it is their genuine affinity with each other and their desire to create and perform together that makes them really special. Their music is hard to define – think the lovechild of Classical and Rock mixed with Celtic blood and that’s Affinití.”

In addition the show will feature Howard Crosby, nephew of Bing Crosby --the voice of Christmas himself --on both traditional and contemporary Christmas songs.

Earlier this week we had a chance to speak with the group about their upcoming show.

The set includes music from their popular holiday CD, The Gift of Music. Affiniti brings new arrangements to songs like “O Holy Night,” “Winter Wonderland” and Mel Torme’s “Christmas Song.” They will join Crosby on his uncle Bing’s biggest hit: “White Christmas.”

Stay tuned to the Morning News next week for your chance to win tickets for what is sure to be the show of the season at the Capitol Theater.
