Is it too soon to start working on the Christmas List?  Not if you’re my daughter Kate.  She is already on the job! So cute, so expensive! Sheesh!

According to a published report from NBC, a recent survey indicates the average shopper is feeling a little merrier this holiday season, planning to spend about 6 percent more than last year, for a an average total of $1,226. Higher income Americans plan to boost Holiday expenses by 15%!  (Let’s hope charitable giving is up too!)

Accounting and professional services company Deloitte conducted a survey and found “ folks are feeling better about the economy and their economic situation…and have gotten away from this notion that they're embarrassed by spending."

The National Retail Federation is optimistic but a little more conservative predicting an average spend of just over $967, based on the results of its annual holiday spending survey.    Looks like Santa and someone are making Christmas great again?
