9th Circut Court Turns Down Yakima’s Request For A Stay on Elections — DAve’s Diary

For all the angst and anger expressed by Latino leaders at the recent council meeting over the city council’s decision to pursue a stay of Federal Judge Thomas Rice’s districted elections, the matter was quickly dispatched by the 9^th Circuit Court of Appeals. 

In a procedural decision released today, the  court said the appeal should be heard by the federal district court judge who ordered the election in the first place.

Up next for Yakima elections will be the August primary conducted under the seven district realignment
