8th Annual Tamale Festival in Wapato is Saturday

If you love tamales you'll want to be in Wapato Saturday for the 8th annual Tamale Festival. It'll be held starting at 9 am Saturday on South Wapato Avenue. Besides the tasty tamale cook-off you'll also be able to enjoy live music, and a car show. The Wapato Tamale Festival is open to anyone. If you're an expert tamale maker bring your tamales to the festival by noon, judging starts at 2pm. 2 hundred dollars goes to the winner of the festival.
