LAKEWOOD, Wash. (AP) — An 83-year-old man was struck by a car and killed in Lakewood.

The News Tribune reports Byung Cho was walking along the edge of a road with no sidewalks Monday morning when a vehicle hit him.

Police said the female driver in his 60s likely didn't see Cho. She was taken to a hospital with possible heart problems.

Detectives say she didn't appear to be speeding or under the influence and she's not expected to be arrested.

Cho was pronounced dead at the scene.
