KENNEWICK (AP) — Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run collision that left five people injured.

The Tri-City Herald reports a Honda Civic that fled the scene Saturday was later found.

Washington State Patrol says the Honda was attempting to pass a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Arnoldo Cornelio on Highway 28 and clipped it instead.

Cornelio collided with a vehicle driven by 39-year-old Sandra M. Gierke.

The two adults were taken to the hospital along with two girls aged 13 and 3 as well as a 1-year-old boy.

Their conditions are unknown.
