The second annual Bite of Yakima is this Saturday, June 28, at the Yakima Area Arboretum. One of last year's favorites from Downtown Summer Nights will take the Fiesta Foods Stage to really get the party going!

3rd Date is a three-piece band from the Tri-Cities that specializes in great pop-rock sounds. Last summer, they headlined one of Townsquare Media's Downtown Summer Nights, playing songs by great groups like The Who, Steely Dan, and the Beatles just to name a few.

Here's what the band's Facebook page has to say about them.

3rd Date is:

Rob Ivey – Guitar/Vocals

Rob has been playing music since childhood and professionally since around 1984. He has played in various bands including “The Rage”, “The Members”, “Blue in the face” and most recently “IV”.

Rob has been fortunate to have shared the stage with such performers as “Great White”, “Randy Bachman”(The Guess Who, BTO), “Sara Evans”, ”Neal McCoy”, “Gregg Rolie” (Journey/Santana), “James Otto”, “Nightranger” and others. Rob most enjoys creating new originals or adding a unique twist to a old song and prides himself on having NEVER played such classics as Mustang Sally & Wooly Bully.

Robs is more passionate than ever about performing as well as writing music and current music production projects.

Tim Holloway – Drums/Vocals

Tim has been playing drums and singing professionally for over 30 years. He has toured extensively in the western part of the U.S. and overseas in various bands. Some of the bands from the Northwest include Foolish Fortune (still active), The Kidz, Trespasser, Smoking Guns, and Groundwater. He is currently a teacher with two sons who share his passion for music and performance.

Alan Brower – Bass/Vocals

Al is a Monster St. Louis Rams fan who really digs Beer. Bass is a passion as well, especially rock, funk, jazz and fusion. Playing and singing professionally in the western US and Canada since the early eighties, the gigs and bands are too numerous to remember –some of his favorites are “The Dazzling Suburbanites”, “Blue in the Face”, “Groundwater” and of course, “3rd Date”.

You can catch 3rd Date this Saturday at the Steve Hahn VW/Kia/Mercedes-Benz Bite of Yakima at the Yakima Area Arboretum on the Fiesta Foods Stage. Gates open at 11 a.m.
