Yakima Police officers continue doing their jobs today amid a surge of police officers shootings across the country. Earlier today Three officers were killed and several others wounded after a shooting in Baton Rouge La. The sheriff's office says one suspect is dead and police are still searching for two others. Yakima Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli
says officers are well aware of what's happening and he says all officers are on edge. But he says the community has been a big support. "They've  brought cards, cookies, cakes and they've stopped by to give support." He says police will continue to meet with community members through planned BBQ's and Coffee With A Cop meetings as a way to forge better relationships between officers and the community to prevent future police officer shootings. But Bastenelli says every time an officer is shot it impacts the police community.
