Standoff Ends Peacefully In Yakima

Yakima Police say a standoff on South 11th Avenue just south of Yakima Avenue ended around 8:30 a.m. after the suspect started to run away but was caught by officers and arrested. The 26-year-old man is now sitting in the Yakima county jail. Police say they arrived at the Bayhill Estates apartments around 5:00 a.m. where officers from SWAT and the Yakima gang unit were serving a warrant. The suspect was not cooperating and barricaded himself inside an apartment.

An investigation continues today. No injuries were reported.
