A house fire at 701 W. Fremont Ave. began just after 5 p.m. on Sunday, The Yakima Herald Republic reported, and thankfully nobody was at home at the time of the fire. The son of the residents, Miguel Gonzales, arrived at the house around 5:30 and The Republic says that Miguel Gonzales' parents have lived in the home since 1996 along with other family members, but the family was at Rimrock Lake on Sunday afternoon.

The Republic reports that the neighbor, Kari Robie, was the one who saw smoke and called 911 where crews came in from Selah, Gleed, Yakima, East Valley and the Yakima Training Center.

The estimated cost of damage to the house and its contents from Selah fire Captain Mike Johnston is between $80,000 and $110,000 with the cause still under investigation, reports The Republic.
