An 18-year-old is in custody Monday night after leading police on a chase that ended at a local middle school. Police received a call from a victim stating that one of two men had pointed an assault rifle at them before driving off. The main suspect was then spotted on foot entering Lewis and Clark Middle School.

KIMA Action News spoke to a couple of boys who say they couldn't believe their eyes. "We're like, we saw this dude jump the fence, and I was like 'What if that was the dude that's running from the cops?'" said witness Andy Ortiz.

The suspect was arrested shortly after the canine unit was brought in. It's unclear what charges he may face.
