Man in Custody following Yakima Hostage Situation

A scary time for two teens at a home near South 32nd and Englewood on Wednesday. A man wanted by police running through the neighborhood entered the home while hiding from police. The officers surrounded the home and after about 20 minutes the suspect was arrested. No injuries were reported. Authorities say Kody Swearngin was a wanted felon and was running from officers before he was arrested. Yakima police think the suspect might have ditched the gun when he was running through neighborhoods. The gun was never found the suspect faces charges in court later this week.
