An effort to increase the minimum wage to $15 an hour comes to Yakima on Wednesday. Officials with Working Washington will launch the campaign at the Washington Event Center at 2801 Washington Avenue. Officials with the campaign say airport workers with Working Washington led the way to Seatac’s $15 law, and fast food strikers with Working Washington helped spark the movement for $15 in Seattle. Now low-wage workers and community leaders from the Yakima area are joining with Working Washington to launch a campaign for higher wages in the Yakima Valley. The Rally is set for 4:00 p.m.
