New Yakima Valley Wineries Signs

The next time you are looking for a local winery, watch for the signs. New signs for wineries in the county have gone up in Sunnyside. The signs are supposed to make it easier for tourists to get to local wineries. Our news partner KIMA Action News reports more than $100,000 has been spent on installation. Other signs have already been placed near Zillah and Grandview.

"When they're done with those, then we start putting in the driveway or the destination signs for the wineries. Those should go up much faster and I'm still hopeful they will be set up by the end of this month," said David McFadden with the Yakima County Development Association.

Thirty wineries are involved in the project. There is a 600-hour-a-year minimum operation requirement for a winery to be included.
