No charges are expected to be filed against the driver that struck and killed a 14 year old boy on Friday as the boy was crossing at 34th and Ahtanum. State patrol investigators say Brandon Harmon of Yakima crossed Ahtanum road in front of a Chevrolet Blazer driven by 22-year-old man. Police say the boy was with his stepfather working in a nearby field just before he decided to cross the street. A news release issued by WSP indicates no drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident. No charges have been filed. Neighbors say the area is known to be dangerous for pedestrians crossing the street, especially at night because of a lack of lighting.
