The sound of a snow shovel will likely become familiar this week in the Yakima valley...the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning in effect this morning through tomorrow night for the Yakima area. The total snow accumulation could be 8-12 inches. Most of the snow is expected Wednesday. Light snow is expected Tuesday morning before increasing in intensity Tuesday night and Wednesday. Freezing rain is also possible Wednesday. As if that's not enough....the forecast also calls for 10-20 mph winds with gusts up to 30 mph will create blowing and drifting snow and may make driving dangerous.
